Growing up in Texas with a Welsh-American heritage, Dylan is a 5th generation rugby player. He first started playing rugby in kindergarten with the Austin Huns youth program and followed his older brother to Rock Rugby when he was in middle school.

He made his high school varsity debut in 2024 as a freshman. He played at flyhalf, scoring 15 points, but his 2025 sophomore season was his breakout year. That season he was a points machine, scoring 113 points as a playmaking and deadly goal kicking flyhalf, smashing the Rock Rugby single season points record along the way. He had 10 assists, used his boot and distribution skills to control games tactically, captained the team in one game and won “Back of the Year” at the end of season awards.

In his junior season, Dylan concentrated on developing his overall game management, from backfield defense to organizing structures to controlling games – scanning the field and dictating play. He missed 3 games due to a broken ankle, but still scored 36 points, having 3 assists and 1 MVP (including 2 games against Nationally ranked opponents). He was also part of the Texas high performance program, and won “Back of the Year” for the 2nd consecutive season.

He played 7s for Rock Rugby Academy U18s, reaching the cup final at the 2025 Bloodfest tournament, scoring a few tries and continuing his prolific goal kicking.

At the end of his junior season he was selected for the Central Texas all conference team that played at the NAI7s and was voted best back on the team.

Though primarily a flyhalf, he can also play fullback with a big kicking game and a safe pair of hands under the high ball.

He is a cross-sport athlete, having played soccer through middle school, and football in both middle and high school (playing quarterback and receiver). He has worked on adding elements to his rugby game over the summer and is looking forward to his junior season.

He names his favorite rugby player as Dan Carter (former New Zealand fly-half) and best rugby memory kicking a long range penalty goal in the last minute to take his team into the State playoffs.
