Last night we hosted the Raptors from Houston. They were a very talented side with some very big sized players. They fought hard and ran hard, hit hard and defended well. We had our work cut out for us.

The first half we had some great momentum but ended up making mistakes and losing ground. Our forwards played well, stealing some scrums from the opposition. However, we committed way too many penalties that prevented us from getting back into the game. The Raptors scored three unconverted tries and Dylan Richards kicked a beauty from the corner to get us on the board. The half time ended with the Raptors up 3-15.

The second half started with a mishandling error giving the Raptors excellent field position. Which they took advantage of and score quickly. We battled back each time but still were plagued with miscues and penalties. Although this have was much closer, we scored three tries, we ran out of time and lost the game 22-37.

The coaches were pleased with the effort, never giving up, but disappointed in the penalty count and the errors. We lost our shape and really never got our game plan on track.

Players of the match were Isaac for the forwards and Erin for the backs. Our newly named captain showed us why he was the correct choice to lead the boys as he played a super game and led the team with his performance.
