11/20 Alumni Watch – the Outsiders

Several current and former Rock Rugby players showed up at Fritz Park in Hutto this afternoon to cheer on some familiar faces as Justin Hale’s “Other Rugby Club” took on Fort Hood in a league clash.

Last year’s Rock varsity center Logan Thomas started at scrum half for the Outsiders and was typically combative. Steven Hullum played strongly in the front row, Lawrence Andry was a dangerous runner from the wing and Nate Stallings came off the bench and made his presence felt.

Current Rock rugby player Ian Sadler was a very stylish touch judge, while enjoying the match from the stands were Gavin Richards, Coach Mark, the Anderson brothers (Josh and Joseph – they both fled when we got the camera out), new Rock player Sebastian Corbo and potential new recruit Cam.

Plenty of Rock Rugby gear was in evidence around the stand as the spectators enjoyed a physical encounter where both teams tried to throw the ball around and play running rugby despite the strong winds.
